Acquisition, Use and Disclosure of Confidential Information

We define the term 'confidential information' in this policy to mean:

information about our client organisations not available in the public domain, and the personal details of their employees.

We collect confidential information in order to efficiently and effectively serve our client organisations and their employees. We also use confidential information to disseminate information, notices, newsletters, brochures and other promotional material directly to clients and their employees.

It is our policy not to disclose a client's confidential information to any third parties without the client's consent.  Similarly, it is our policy not to disclose personal details of employees to any third parties without the employee's consent. There are exceptions to this.  These exceptions are firstly where we believe there are reasonable grounds that disclosure is necessary to prevent a threat to life or health. Secondly, we will provide information for law enforcement purposes where we are required to do so or where it may assist in the return of lost or stolen property.

We disclose aggregate data to third parties to assist the lobbying efforts of not-for-profit cycling organisations. When we do so, the identity of any client organisation is not disclosed unless prior consent has been given. No individual personal information is provided.

Related Party, Shared Information, and Security Precautions

Cycle Masters Pty Limited and Renegade Cycles Pty Limited (ABN 40 065 307 879) are owned by the same person and, as a consequence, are related parties. The owner of Cycle Masters and Renegade Cycles is the only person who has access to the databases of both companies. Any confidential information collected by Cycle Masters will not be recorded in any database of Renegade Cycles without the consent of the client organisation or employee, as the case may be. The owner will not make unsolicited contact with client organisations or employees on matters of business normally associated with Renegade Cycles unless prior consent to disclose confidential information to Renegade Cycles has been granted. There is one exception to this.  In the normal course of Cycle Masters' business, Cycle Masters may ask client organisations' employees if they wish to disclose personal details directly to Renegade Cycles or other appropriate third parties connected with the cycling programs of Cycle Masters.

In most instances, only employees of Cycle Masters perform the services of Cycle Masters so personal details are not disclosed to other parties in this regard. On occasion, Cycle Masters will use the services of employees of Renegade Cycles to assist with rides, events and other activities.  Any employee of Renegade Cycles who assists in such activities will be made aware of this Privacy Policy and instructed not to record any confidential information in any database of Renegade Cycles (unless consent by the client organisation or employee is given otherwise).

We take precautions to keep your confidential information secure.  These include password protection of databases and other security precautions at our premises and with respect to portable computing devices.

Client organisations or their employees may remove themselves from our mailing list at any time.
